Le Touquet. Paris Plage. La Gare des Tramways

This card was written by the web mistress's grandfather, James Hardy Smithies[1], on 2 Aug 1918 whilst he was on active service and sent to his younger daughter.

It shows the tram station for the Etaples to Paris-Plage tram. There is a semi circular sign above the main entrance and the tram lines stop roughly level with this. The line opened in 1900 and closed forty years later. Le Touquet is near Boulogne, in the Pas-de-Calais department.

"Le Touquet. Paris Plage. La Gare des Tramways. O. Hacquart, phot.-editeur, No.104.".
