Place: Buxton
Property / Street / Road: The Empire Hotel
Date: 2 Nov 1914 - 3 Feb 1915
Description/Historical Information: Seven soldiers standing in the snow, only one of whom is wearing a greatcoat. It snowed twice whilst the Regiment was at Buxton, near the end of November and towards the end of December. The severe weather and snow at the end of December 1914 made outdoor training exercises very difficult (WO 95/3025/3, Regimental War Diary, 1914 - 1916, TNA: noted in Dec 1914).
