Family group of Mr. Pearson and family of Heathy
Lea, Tansley; Heathy Lea was a dairy farm of 70 acres that was held
by Mr. Pearson under Mr. J. B. Marsden Smedley and Mr. Clark Taylor.
Seated from the left: James Pearson (born in Brampton), Bessie (aged
4) and the only one born in Matlock, Mary Ellen (wife of James).
Standing, from left to right: Mea, aged 26; Stephen, aged 20; Carrie, aged 24.
Mr. Pearson was Chairman of the Milkseller's Association and his son,
and sometimes his daughters, drove the milk float. Mr. Pearson has
previously lived at Rochdale and then at Torfield, Matlock which
was let out whilst he farmed at Heathy Lea. Shortly after the picture
was taken Carrie married Arthur Berresford. Also see
