Description/Historical Information: |
Decorated boar's head and other food at a Christmas
Banquet.
Dr. Annie Gray, who gives talks on Mrs. Beeton, has said that
such items would take a long time to prepare, not only cooking the
head for many hours but steeping it in beetroot juice or red wine
so it changed colour. It is probable that the white piping was lard. |
