| Description/Historical Information: |
Large group of working men, all wearing cloth
caps. The man standing on the far left holding a mallet is leaning
on a winch. Two of his fellow workers have shovels and another has
a pick. Behind them is a large metal boiler of some kind. It is probable
that they were involved in the landscaping work laying out more of
the Hall Leys in 1910, although they could have laid roads. Also
see VLA5004. The man leaning on the winch
was one of Matlock's National Reservists (see VLA5068). |
