| Description/Historical Information: |
Five men involved with the installation of a large boiler. They have discarded their overalls, seen in other images.
The man crouching on the right may have been a supervisor or foreman.
The boiler face has the words "Engineers Yates and Thom Boilermakers" around the rim of each section and across
the middle it reads "19 Blackburn 25". According to "Grace's Guide To British Industrial History" they were makers
of engines for mills, collieries and waterworks but it is currently not known who this installation was for.
Also see VLA5020 when the work was considerably less advanced and VLA9862 when
the tiling at about the same stage as here. |
