Description/Historical Information: |
A large group of clean soldiers standing
beside a horse and cart. They have towels around their necks and
shirts tucked back, so have just come from having a good wash. The
long shadows suggests this was either starting the day clean or smartening
up after a day of exercises and trench digging. One soldier is holding
a bowl and another two smaller vessels, possibly shaving mugs. To
the right of the horse are a large number of covered containers (presumably
used for hot water) and behind them is possibly a boiler. |
