Description/Historical Information: |
Group, with kit bags, lined up and ready to depart.
The image is rather blurred, but it was felt that it should be included.
On the right is the shadow of a soldier which can just about be seen.
It is probably the shadow of Vernon Lamb. Behind the group is a building
with shingles down the side and further back, almost level with the
solitary man walking towards the camera, is a pub sign (unfortunately
unreadable). The trees are coniferous, but as the men are in great
coats, it must be winter.
It is now believed this is a group of soldiers from the Sherwood
Foresters Reserve Battalion who were leaving Buxton.
