Extract of part of the land tax raised in the parish in 1780.
Whilst no addresses are provided the names of people listed
indicate this covers mostly Riber, Matlock Town and Starkholmes,
properties in the Lea part of the parish as well as
what is Willersley today.
Land tax was collected between 1693 (assessed the previous
year) and 1963, although "the most extensive surviving
records were from1780 to 1832. Catholic were charged double
tax from 1692 to 1831"[1].
