Two pages advertising Cromford Court as a holiday centre, from
the Friendship Holidays Association brochures of 1936 and
1951[1].
Above is the 1936 brochure, with charges of 55/- (£2
15s. in old money) for a week long stay. Miss Tolmie was
the manageress. The garden house advertised, which was
exclusively for men at the reduced rate of 50/- per. week,
was in the conservatory adjacent to the main building.
By the 1950s there were plants growing there so the room
was presumably no longer used as sleeping accommodation[1].
Below is part of the 1951 brochure, by which time the weekly
rate had risen by almost 40%; there was slightly less
guest accommodation available.
