*The web mistress notes that Irene Ballington (1915-1989) lived at Carson House on Rutland Street. She had attended Ernest Bailey's Secondary School and in 1933 was one of five pupils to pass the Higher School Certificate examination of the Joint Matriculation Board (Sheffield Independent, 19 August 1933).
