Place: |
Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment) Army Training Camp |
Property / Street / Road: |
Dunstable. |
Date: |
1915
They were attending camp in May and many left Dunstable in August of that year. |
Description/Historical Information: |
Seven young men with one flag each. They are possibly
signallers, or providers of markers at parades. Note the chimneys
in the background. The camp was clearly close to an industrial town.
One of these young men may have been Edwin Rogers of Matlock as Vernon Lamb photographed the Signalling Section sitting
outside their tent in July 1915. Edwin was named as one of the group. |
