Place: Buxton
Property / Street / Road: The Empire Hotel
Date: 2 Nov 1914 - 3 Feb 1915
Description/Historical Information: Messing took place in the large garage in the Hotel's grounds. Initially there was a lack of utensils, which made things difficult, but these were quickly procured.
Soldiers, with various food items including a jar of Burton's Preserves, bread, meat, bacon and butter or lard. Behind them is a temporary canteen.
