Ashover, All Saints' Here lieth the body of Ellen NIGHTINGALE of Matlock Wooldes, who departed this life February 17th 1767 aged 38 years. Also here lieth the body of Henry NIGHTINGALE late of Matlock Woooldes and uncle to Peter NIGHTINGALE of Lea Esqr. who departed this life June 7 1785 aged 55 years.

In memory of Henry FERNE, esq. of Snitterton in this county, Receiver General of the Customs in the reign of King William, Queen Ann and George the First. He died July 12th, 1723. And of his wife, Elizabeth FERNE, youngest daughter and co-heiress of Nicholas DAYREL, esq., of King's Clear, in the county of Southampton. She died, May 7th, 1733 : their issue was one son, Robert, and three daughters Elizabeth, Isabella and Frances. His eldest daughter, Elizabeth, was married to Edmund TURNOR, esq. of Stoke Rochford in the county of Lincoln, who died, December 4th, 1763 ; in conformity to whose last will and testament, her daughter and executrix, Diane LANGTON, widow of B. LANGTON, in the county of Lincoln, has caused this monument to be erected. [Also includes arms and crest] (Glover, 1833)
Note: the dates of death for Henry and Elizabeth are different in three sources, including a death year for Henry as 1703 which is patently wrong as George I, mentioned above, did not ascended the throne until 1712!
Sacred to the Memory of Samuel SIMPSON of Matlock in this County Esq. who died on the 13th day of June 1834 in the 73rd year of his age.

Those four later named interred in the Parish Church Yard Also Elizabeth relict of first named who died March 23 1878 aged 60.
