There are no new pages at present although a number of pages have been updated.
Additions/Changes to:
1. The "officials" section of Kelly's 1891 Directory for the Matlocks has moved to the Kelly's Directory, Derbyshire section of the website. It has been incorporated into the Matlock page that is now in that section. None of the other Kelly's 1891 Directory pages are affected by this move and all links to the new location have been updated.
2. Matlock Bath Holy Trinity Burials Additional burials 1871-1880, 137 names.
3. Matlock: Crowder Johnson's Handmade Hosiery Works has been updated.
July 2025 New Pages:
There are no new pages at present.

1. Matlock: Hall Lees Park, Boating on the Derwent, 1930s has had some additions to the text.
2. Willersley Castle, the Lodge & Gardens of the Arkwrights. Now includes an image of Scarthin Tors, taken from the castle's grounds.
3. Matlock Bath: Sanger's Circus, 1900. Page re-written and a photo of an elephant bathing in the River Derwent, given to me in early 2020 by a Mr. Kirk, has been added.
June 2025 New Pages:

Additions to:
1. Matlock Bath: North Parade, early twentieth century (2). Second postcard, from 1914, added. With a little more about the Daltons of the Central Restaurant.
2. Matlock Bath: North Parade, 1930s. Another postcard has been added and the original image enlarged. Mr. and Mrs. Latimer were now running the Central Restaurant and the Crowders were now at Evans' Parade Restaurant.
3. Canon Kewley & His Sisters The Rector of Matlock and three of his sisters, two of whom had been involved in education, lived him. The biographical notes have had a major update.
May 2025 New Pages:
Matlock: Wherrett's Bakery, Church Street. George Wherrett and his family ran the Church Street bakery for over 80 years. There was a bakery on the premises for at least a hundred and twenty years. 3 images. With very grateful thanks to Grenville Smith for all his help.
Additions to:
There have been additions of both images and information to a number of the pages about Riber.
1. Matlock: Riber Castle. Three more postcards and some of the text ahas been rewritten.
2. Riber Castle & High Tor, Views from Masson. One of the views has been enlarged. A fourth image added from a small collection donated by Peak Rail.
3. Riber Hill and Castle, Matlock. With information about Fairfax Moresby, a weathy landowner who lived at Riber in the 17th century.
4. Pathways to Riber Castle, passing Riber House Farm, Matlock. Two additional images and more about former residents of Riber House Farm.
5. Starkholmes and Riber from a Path to High Tor. A better enlargement of Ward's End and the field used by Starkholmes Allotments holders for almost 100 years. There had been a lead mine shaft on the site ...
6. Pic Tor & Riber Castle, 1928. Additional image taken from the lower slopes of Masson and including St. Giles' Church, the Memorial and Riber Castle.
7. The entries for Thomas Wherrett on the Matlock war memorial and Starkholmes war memorial have been added to.
8. Matlock Bath: Youth Football Club, 1906-7. Now includes the names of the young men and boys who put forward their names to join the team when it was founded.

1. Matlock Men Serving King and Country, 1916. A lengthy list of names recorded in the parish magazine of those who were who were serving, or had served, between the outbreak of war and January 1916.

1. Matlock Bath Men Serving King and Country, 1914. A second, more comprehensive, list published two months later has been added.
2. Matlock: Derby & Derbyshire Convalescent Home (NALGO House). A fourth image added from a small collection donated by Peak Rail.
3. The Wishing Stone. 1906 image from the Maureen Smith collection added.
4. St. Giles' Church Interior, 1850-1969. The nave and chancel, 1955. Image also from from the Maureen Smith collection.
Mar 2025 New Pages:
1. Matlock Bath Church in the Nineteenth Century
From the laying of the foundation stone to the 1873/4 extension and some early memorials. Six photographs and engravings of the early years of the church, including the tomb of George Withers Saxton.
2. A new page, Holy Trinity Church, Matlock Bath, 1940s & 50s, has been created as two pages (Holy Trinity Church, Matlock Bath, 1940s and Matlock Bath: Holy Trinity Church and the Heights of Abraham) have been merged.

15. Matlock Bath: Youth Hostel, 1960 - the First Vicarage has been renamed.
It is now Brunswood Road, Matlock Bath - the First Vicarage and more has beeen added, with images of the property in the nineteenth century.
16. Brunswood Terrace, Dale Road, Matlock Bath. The main imge has been enlarged and improved, whilst the accompanying text has been largely re-written.
Feb 2025 Additions to:
More information has come to light about the following items that will, hopefully, change perceptions of:
1. The Great Matlock Will Case - Court Report is the official account of the eight day trial in 1864 to finally settle the question as to whether three codicils found after the death of George Nuttall, Esq., land surveyor of Matlock, Derbyshire, were genuine or forgeries. See, below the court case to: So what happened afterwards?
2. "The Great Matlock Will Case" - 100th anniversary newspaper article by Roy Christian, published in "The Derbyshire Advertiser" about 1958.
3. Pedigree of Mr. Geo. Nuttall of Matlock - minor changes.
